2019 Albatross Ridge Beton Chardonnay
2019 Albatross Ridge Beton Chardonnay

Bright display of stone fruit and white flowers jump out of the glass. Flavors of tart apple, pear, and a hint of apricot are framed by a lively acidity and minerality that leads to a layered richness that lingers on the finish.

Vintage Notes
The 2019 Vintage began similar to the 2018, with budbreak slow to develop by the second week of March. Because of this flowering and bloom were pushed back a few weeks later similar to the previous vintage. The weather during flowering and bloom, led to consistent fruit set and berry sizes that were fairly uniform, and larger compared to any vintage in the past. Summer weather was mild and cooler compared to 2018. The Fall weather continued to be mild and this resulted in a the longest veraison to harvest gap we have ever experienced up at our vineyard. The 2019 Cuve´e Be´ton Chardonnay is our second vintage to be fermented and aged in our new 100% Amphora concrete vessel. The 2019 Cuve´e Be´ton Chardonnay is a touch more richer than the 2018, and continues to build upon the expressiveness of site and soil that our Estate Chardonnay embodies. By being completely neutral of any oak this Chardonnay allows us to further view our site in a new interpretation and through a slightly different lens. As we continue to fine tune and evolve we are very excited by the results of working with the concrete amphora.
